Introduction

Gregory Huhn, MD, MPHTM:
In this module, we will discuss the fundamentals of which pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) regimen to select for which patient. This is a foundational educational activity, and we will really get down to the finer points for the preventive biomedical modalities that we now have to prevent HIV.

We will focus on current guideline recommendations for the use of PrEP, what our PrEP options are and for whom each option is indicated, the data supporting each PrEP option, current monitoring recommendations, and an overview of barriers and solutions to PrEP uptake.
